Ocean Kamp — What it is
The developer behind Ocean Kamp (OceanKAMP) is, led by Jon Corn, who is the CEO of the development group.
Ocean Kamp is a proposed large-scale coastal resort and residential development designed around a surf-focused lifestyle. The project is planned on roughly 95 acres and is intended to include:
- A large surf lagoon / surf park (approximately 5 acres of wave pool area)
- A 300-room hotel
- Approximately 700 residential units
- An RV / Airstream-style lodging component
- Commercial, hospitality, and recreational uses
- Open space and trails/community amenities
The goal is to create a destination similar to a coastal resort village—bringing surfing, lodging, housing, and recreation together in one project.
The Kamp team claims that Kamp will create 1341 jobs once it’s open and operating and the tax benefits to the city of Oceanside, while being unknown, will be “significant” according to the Kamp team.
